PLANNED GIVING
A gift to the Foundation can be a promise, rather than an immediate donation. These gifts are used to benefit future generations, as well as to provide current tax relief. Planned giving is a very effective way for you to help others, all while providing a wise investment for your future.
We welcome your support if you choose to participate in our Planned Giving Program. The process can be simple and should be done in consultation with your financial advisor and/or lawyer.
Planned Giving can be in the form of a bequest in your will, designating the HDH Foundation as the recipient of memorial gifts when making funeral arrangements, naming the Foundation as the owner and beneficiary of a new or existing life insurance policy, and more.

GARDEN OF FOND MEMORIES
Since its inception in 2010, the Garden of Fond Memories has become a place enjoyed by patients, visitors, and staff. The Garden is filled with beautifully landscaped flora and kind tributes for loved ones, hospital staff and physicians.
The Garden of Fond Memories was generously donated by Bill Roseborough in memory of his late wife, Karen Roseborough. Karen was a dedicated and passionate nurse at the Hanover and District Hospital, starting her nursing career in 1963 and practicing in Hanover until her retirement in 2001. Bill, her husband and best friend, made his generous donation not only to honour Karen, but as a tribute to nurses, physicians, and all other hospital staff.
The Garden has offered patients, visitors, and staff a sanctuary; removing them from the day-to-day events at the hospital. Within the garden there are many opportunities to enjoy the beautiful trees and stone river that bends throughout the garden.
This beautiful garden acts as a tribute to memories that can be cherished and shared. Any visitor to the hospital has the opportunity to dedicate a piece of the garden to a loved one or staff. We invite you to take a walk through the garden during your next visit to “pay homage” to those friends, family and staff that have shared their memories.
Come in or call in to the Foundation office to take your own walk through the Garden and find out more about these dedication opportunities.
