PLANNED GIVING
A gift to the Foundation can be a promise, rather than an immediate donation. These gifts are used to benefit future generations, as well as to provide current tax relief. Planned giving is a very effective way for you to help others, all while providing a wise investment for your future.
We welcome your support if you choose to participate in our Planned Giving Program. The process can be simple and should be done in consultation with your financial advisor and/or lawyer.
Planned Giving can be in the form of a bequest in your will, designating the HDH Foundation as the recipient of memorial gifts when making funeral arrangements, naming the Foundation as the owner and beneficiary of a new or existing life insurance policy, and more.

GARDEN OF FOND MEMORIES
Since its establishment in 2010, the Garden of Fond Memories has become a peaceful retreat for patients, visitors, and hospital staff at Hanover and District Hospital. This serene garden, filled with beautifully landscaped flora and stone pathways, serves as both a tribute and a place of reflection for those connected to the hospital community.
The garden was made possible through the generous donation of Bill Roseborough, in loving memory of his late wife, Karen Roseborough. Karen was a dedicated nurse who served the hospital with passion and commitment from 1963 until her retirement in 2001. Bill’s donation was not only a tribute to his wife but also a heartfelt recognition of the hard work and dedication of all hospital staff, including nurses and physicians.
The Garden of Fond Memories offers a tranquil space where visitors can escape the demands of hospital life. Among the features of the garden are beautiful trees, vibrant flowers, and a peaceful stone river that weaves through the space. It has become a special spot for patients, families, and staff to find comfort and solace.
The garden also provides an opportunity for individuals to honor their loved ones or health care workers. Visitors to the hospital can dedicate a piece of the garden—whether it’s a tree, stone, or plaque—in memory of someone special. This dedication program allows families and friends to commemorate their loved ones in a meaningful way.
The Foundation invites all who visit the hospital to take a walk through the garden and reflect on the memories it holds. To learn more about the dedication opportunities or to explore the garden further, you are welcome to visit or contact the Foundation office.
